Location
Drive on the N340 from Malaga Airport heading towards Marbella (Full details can be provided if you intend to hire a car). A Car Rental Company can be recommended on request, as can an airport pick-up service.
The situation of the apartment means that car hire is not essential. Within 5 minutes walk to the right there is a well-stocked Mini Market and a number of small bars and restaurants including British, Chinese and Italian. To the left there is also a selection of cafes and bars including a Bakery. All conveniently close, with the benefit of being out of sight and out of earshot!
The small charismatic town of La Cala will take you a leisurely 12 minute walk to the centre, and has all the essentials (Banks, P.O., Supermarket etc) plus a huge choice of bars & restaurants. The Saturday morning market should not be missed.

Taxis are abundant and not overly priced (some of the fares we paid when we visited in March 2003 are listed above) but buses are also cheap and frequent.
The beach of La Cala is a mere 5-minute walk, there you can find a variety of watersports including paragliding and boat hire. Or chill out at one of the charming beach bar/restaurants.
Tennis
There are Tennis Courts up behind the Mini Market. Arrangements to use these can be made at Raquettes Bar.
Golf
There are 30 golf courses within a 50 miles radius. See the separate information sheet for details on a couple of the closest.
Horse Racing
From September to June horse racing at the Hipodromo Costa del Sol returns to every other Sunday mornings as the weather cools down, instead of the summertime schedule of Saturday evenings. The races begins at 10.30 at the custom-built racetrack which is a popular spot with the general public as well as racing fans as there are restaurants and bars aplenty which are open all day even though the weekly racing lasts for around 3 hours. There are also courses for horsing knowledge, perfectioning and competition, jumping and individual or group lessons.
